Youth Ballet/Tap/Jazz Combo (6-8yrs)

Age: 6-8 years old

Class Apperal:
Jazz shoes, fitted pants or leggings, fitted top or leotard and hair pulled out of face.

The dancer will be introduced to the ballet, jazz and tap styles of danceand terminology. They will continue to learn and perfect the fundamentalsof ballet, jazz and tap steps. The class will include some conditioning and stretching exercises, developing core strength for a healthy and strong body.

Ballet Course Focus:
  1. Introduce barre warm-up
  2. Center floor warm-up
  3. Ballet positions, arms and feet
  4. Arabesques, tendus, pliés, relevés, forced arch, and passés
  5. Begin pirouette turns/timers 6
  6. Across the floor exercises
  7. Chaîné and piqué turns
  8. Bourrées
  9. Battements, glissades and ballet choreography
  10. Splits – right, left and center
  11. Leaps, grande jetés
