Intermediate Hip Hop

Class Apparel:
Comfortable pants or shorts, t-shirt or tank top and sneakers.

The dancer will be introduced to the hip hop style of dance. They will learn deeper terminology and history of hip hop dance. The dancer will learn fundamental hip hop moves and how to listen for different beats and rhythms.

Course Focus:
1. Increasing isolations - head, neck, shoulders, rib cage, and hips
2. Center floor warm-up
3. Hip hop positions - first and second parallel
4. Understand musicality and sounds/beats in the music
5. Dime stopping movement
6. Warping movement
7. Across the floor exercises
8. Grounding
9. Splits - right, left and center
